The Post Office Agents Association Limited has given its in-principle approval to changing the scheme under which Australia Post pays Licensed Post Office owners.

“POAAL’s dedicated team has worked hard to scrutinise Australia Post’s proposals in recent weeks,” says POAAL Director Bob Chizzoniti.

“POAAL has been resolute in its efforts to achieve a workable and simple payment scheme for Licensees. We have not budged in our demands for Australia Post to resolve various issues connected to Licensee payments.”

Discussions are continuing to finalise implementation and transition details.

POAAL is the Australian national representative association for small business owners in the postal sector.

POAAL’s members include the owner/operators of Licensed Post Offices (LPOs.) LPOs are privately owned and operated post offices. There are about 2900 LPOs, representing about 80% of Australia Post’s post office network.

About half of these small businesses are located in regional, rural and remote areas. In some cases they might be the only business in the town.
