Steve Homan, who has been interim CIO at e-commerce delivery technology company MetaPack, has now been appointed permanently.
This development follows the company’s recent acquisition by Stamps.com Inc., the leading provider of postage online and shipping software solutions.
Steve Homan’s primary role will be to oversee technology across MetaPack, which includes the engineering and operations of MetaPack’s cloud-based delivery management platform.
Steve joined the company following the departure of David Jack, and over the past four months he has become a crucial part of the executive team. However, it was the opportunities afforded by becoming part of Stamps.com that encouraged him to accept the role on a permanent basis.
“Stamps.com are the best possible buyer in our market, with a clear long-term objective to expand the business and invest in our platform,” he said. “They have a successful track record of buying companies and encouraging high performance and I believe that they will help MetaPack to realise its full potential. MetaPack is already known for responding well and quickly to its customers, so together this will be a winning combination. It is very exciting to be involved.”
Steve joins MetaPack with a wealth of experience. He was most recently Digital Transformation Director for a financial services organisation, and prior to that spent five years as CIO at Daily Mail Group where he managed the company’s technology transformation, enabling it to adopt a more customer-centric business strategy. He was also CIO at Fitness First, responsible for all aspects of technology in the group as well as playing an major role in the evolution of the operations and transformation of the customer experience.
John Clem, CEO at MetaPack, said: “Over the past few months Steve has been adept at quickly gaining trust and respect from both the management team and those that directly report to him. His energy, candour and commitment to excellence are commendable and he is already playing a crucial role in helping us to build on the benefits that we offer to retailers, carriers and partners. We are delighted that he has joined our executive management team.”
